Biography
Yudith Cardinale is a Full Professor in Computer Science Department at Universidad Simón Bolívar (USB) since 1996. She graduated with honors in Computer Engineering in 1990 at Universidad Centro-Occidental Lisandro Alvarado, Venezuela. She received her MSc Degree and PhD in Computer Science from USB, Venezuela, in 1993 and 2004 respectively. Her research interests include parallel processing, distributed object processing, operating systems, digital ecosystems, high performance on grid and cloud platforms, collaborative frameworks, and web services composition, including semantic web. She has written a range of scientific articles published in international journal, books, and conferences, and has participated as member of program committees of several international conferences and journals. She is currently the Director of the Parallel and Distributed Systems Group (GRyDs) at USB, the Vice President of the Venezuelan Computing Society (Sociedad Venezolana de Computación – SVC), and the President of the Venezuelan CLEI Foundation. Yudith Cardinale teaches several postgrade courses in several venezuelan universities in areas such as parallel computing, grid computing, operating systems, distributed systems, and semantic web. She has participated as invited professor at several international universities such as University of California in San Diego (UCSD), Université Paris Dauphine, Université Paris Nanterre, Université de Dijon, Université de Pau.
